Launch of Côte d’Ivoire Long Term Finance Diagnostic

On February 14, 2020, the African Development Bank (AfDB) in collaboration with LTF partners launched the Côte d’Ivoire Long-Term Finance diagnostic report. H.E. Adama Coulibaly, Côte d'Ivoire’s Minister of Finance opened the event along with the Acting Chief Economist of the African Development Bank. Key highlights from the report were presented by the lead author, Michael Fuchs, and Mark Napier, Director of the Financial Sector Deepening for Africa, a partner institution in the LTF initiative.  High level conversations on how to create an enabling environment for Long-Term Finance included representatives from the Central Bank of West African States, the CIV Ministry of Economy and Finance, and the AfDB. Further discussions on promoting Long-Term Finance for Infrastructure, SMEs, and Housing in Côte d’Ivoire provided insights from private sector experts in the respective fields, government representatives and regulators. Closing remarks were made by Mrs. Fanta Coulibaly, Chief of Staff to the Minister of the Economy and Finance who reiterated the government’s support of the report and the recommendations therein.
